Heal Diastasis Recti                            Postpartum

1. What is Diastasis Recti?

Abdominal muscles separate during pregnancy, leaving a gap. This can cause a “pooch belly” and weak core.

2. Why Healing Matters?

Untreated, it can lead to back pain, poor posture, and even pelvic floor problems like prolapse or urine leak.

3. First Step to Recovery

Start with deep core breathing. Exhale gently and draw your belly button in. This reconnects your core.

4. Safe vs Unsafe Exercises

Safe: Core breathing, heel slides, modified planks.

Unsafe: Crunches, sit-ups, heavy lifting too  early.

5. When to Seek Help

If the gap feels deep, your belly bulges, or you have pain. Consult a corrective exercise postpartum specialist or pelvic health physiotherapist.
